Cold feet and a heart beat I know I'm not what I, I thought I was I think I know you, you think you know me well, maybe, perhaps, unlikely Because I am always two ways What I can and cannot say So what must arise? Another conversation of sighs Well it is complicated Hotly debated. Can you ever really know someone? Of all the someone's, you are the one one That I feel so much push and pull Because I am always two ways What I can and cannot say So what must arise? Another conversation of sighs In a parallel universe It is all exactly as we said And all the things that went unspoken Leapt right out of our head Without a hint of ambivalence You know I want you oh so bad Well wants and needs, follows and leads You know it has been hot and cold Because I am always two ways What I can and cannot say So what must arise? Another conversation of sighs

Muddle On 02:45
My voice got buried in the backyard with the dogs And now the notes all come out like they are digging toward the daylight My voice spitting out the dirt and all the sand Has changed but I still think you'll understand the words that I am singing But we will all muddle on Until the last notes are gone And we are whispering the songs into each other's ears My lungs tearing out the O2 from the air exhaling through a voice box trembling in expiration But we will all muddle on Until the last notes are gone And we are whispering the songs into each other's ears I know you hear me still, I know I know you hear me still, I know I know you hear me still, I know, I know, I know My throat coughing up the acid like it is fire And everything for years feels uninspired, like music decomposing But we will all muddle on Until the last notes are gone And we are whispering the songs into each other's ears I know you hear me still, I know I know you hear me still, I know I know you hear me still, I know, I know

The Woods 04:15
Well the road is long, so much time to change your mind To right turns will face you heading home While you would be right to let yourself be this wrong Oh the things we'd change if only we'd known I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods Well the roads all curve and all you see are trees ahead The woods have pulled you in and hid the way Well you would be right either way you choose to go Trace my trail or track your prints away I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods There's no reason that you would be here But I'm still thinking I see your face There's no reason that you should be here But I am still saving you a place Well the fires lit will you come and warm your hands We'll fade with the light if that's your desire Well it sure is cold without your light And it don't take much to rekindle the fire I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods I'll be deep in the woods There's no reason that you would be here But I still think I see your face There's no reason that you should be here But I am still saving you a place There's no reason that you should be here But I am still saving you a place

Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Why am I so sad? Parentheses in the wrong order contain the entirety of the universe The fear feels like breathing water Is sky falling or am I going up? Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Why am I so sad? Last night the moon was so bright the glow blotted out, blanked out all the stars But the forest filled with a milky light ghosts of shadows scattered across the forest floor Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Why am I so sad? Why do I do anything I do? Why do I do anything I do? Why do I do anything I do? Why do I do anything I do? Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Why am I so sad? Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Oh, I am getting everything that I wanted Why am I so sad? Why am I so sad?

Well I can't tell if this is a last gasp or a rescue breath Is this Resurrection, or just a regular, just a regular death? The lights are going out The lights are going out The lights are going out and so am I No one says "this is the last one" with their last breath Is it an illusion or just a regular, just a regular death? The lights are going out The lights are going out The lights are going out and so am I

Some Stars 02:23
There are some stars you can only see from the corner of your eye Stare dead on and they disappear into the blackness of the sky I run to you but you run faster I think I oughta see If I sit down will you crest to the horizon and come running back to me There are some stars you can only see from the corner of your eye Stare dead on and they disappear into the darkness of the sky I run to you but you run faster I think I oughta see If I sit down will you crest to the horizon and come running back to me Come running back to me Come running back to me

Noise 02:53
The first thing that you'll notice is the absence of the noise that you're accustomed to The next thing that you'll notice is the door Goldilocks tales put you into sleep You had no idea that you were the bear You'll find someone's been going through your things and now she's sleeping in your bed The first thing that you'll notice is the absence of the noise that you're accustomed to The next thing that you'll notice is the door Riding hood tales put you into sleep You had no idea you were the wolf You'll hide your teeth deep within your lips Pretending to be something that you're not The first thing that you'll notice is the absence of the noise that you're accustomed to The next thing that you'll notice is the door Goldilocks tales put you into sleep You had no idea that you were the bear Riding hood tales put you into sleep You had no idea you were the wolf The first thing that you'll notice is the absence of the noise that you're accustomed to The next thing that you'll notice is the door

Digging 05:27
I've buried my want so deep that it is quaking And now, now the fault lines expose all of my aching I have been digging so long, I have been digging... I thought I saw light from the depths of this deep pit And I stuck my head out to read the signs of which I'm illiterate I have been digging so long, I have been digging... I've buried my want so deep that it is quaking And now, now the fault lines expose all of my aching I have been digging so long, I have been digging... I've buried my want so deep that it is quaking And now, now the fault lines expose all of my aching I thought I saw light from the depths of this deep pit And I stuck my head out to read the signs of which I'm illiterate I have been digging so long, I have been digging...

The Night 04:10
The night calls to you tonight Calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight The light, oh the closest light Are the stars at such great heights They've travelled for millennia Disappear into the blackness of the trees How many days would pass before they would look for me? Disappear into the blackness of the trees Swallowed up into the dry and fallen leaves The night calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight The night calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight The light, oh the closest light Are stars at such great heights They've travelled for millennia Disappear into the blackness of the trees How many days would pass before they would look for me? Disappear into the blackness of the trees Swallowed up into the dry and fallen leaves Tonight, it calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight The night, calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight Calls out loud tonight

about

In a cabin surrounded by leafless trees and moss-covered boulders deep within the Pocono mountains, Drew spent 4 days alone exorcising the accumulated background noise to hear the songs building up pressure in his head. A classical guitar discovered in the corner of the cabin next to stacks of firewood for the cast iron stove captured the feel of the place and colored the music and the songwriting process. The results are 9 songs about escape, physical and emotional isolation, futility, frustration and death, belied by warm harmonies and nylon strings. A perfect soundtrack for quarantine.
